What it is

Workshop service is mostly about catching wear before it becomes damage. A worn chain replaced on time costs a fraction of the cassette and chainrings it destroys if it is left.

How it works

Inspection

We measure chain wear, check brake pad and rotor thickness, test bearing play and inspect tyres and cables.

Written quotation

We report what needs doing now, what can wait and what is fine, with a price before any work starts.

Work

We carry out the agreed work, and we call before doing anything that was not on the quotation.

Road test

We test ride every bike after service, because a bike that shifts perfectly on the stand does not always shift under load.

Frequent questions

How often should a bike be serviced?

A basic service every six months for regular riding, sooner in wet or dusty conditions. Chain wear should be checked far more often than that.

Why replace a chain that still works?

Because a stretched chain wears the cassette and chainrings to match. Replaced on time, you change one part; left too long, you change three.

Do you service bikes bought elsewhere?

Yes, any brand. We will tell you honestly if a repair is not worth the cost of the parts.
